Ahimsa Welfare Society

At Ahimsa Welfare Society, our vision is deeply rooted in the teachings and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. We believe that true progress lies not only in material advancement but in nurturing human happiness through mental and moral growth. Guided by Gandhian values of nonviolence, equity, and community empowerment, we strive to build inclusive, compassionate, and resilient communities—where every individual, especially the most vulnerable, can thrive with dignity and purpose.

Our Vision

At Ahimsa our vision is the state of swaraj where everyone lives in peace, happiness, best health, dignity and prosperity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure having tools for accomplishing our visionary ends. We do this work by convening, engaging, mobilizing and supporting the sector, to ensure we all have the means to make our world an amazing place to live-in.

OUR FOCUS

Education and Rights of the children

At Ahimsa Welfare Society, we believe every child deserves education, safety, and dignity. Guided by the Right to Education Act and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we work to ensure no child is left behind. From rescuing children from labor, abuse, and early marriage to reintegrating them into schools and supporting their health, learning, and wellbeing, our efforts are creating safer and brighter futures. Inspired by Gandhi’s vision of Nai Talim, we are building a society where children grow with values, skills, and opportunities to thrive.

Nutrition and Health

At Ahimsa Welfare Society, we are committed to building a safer, healthier, and more just world for children and communities. Through our rights-based, community-led approach, we work to ensure every child has access to education, protection, health, and dignity. From rescuing children from labor and early marriage to improving nutrition, healthcare, and learning opportunities, our efforts bring hope and lasting change. Guided by the principles of justice, equity, and Gandhi’s vision of Nai Talim, we are creating pathways where children and families can thrive with values, skills, and opportunities.

Youth & Community Development

In the villages where opportunities are scarce, young people often grow up without the chance to discover their voice or shape their future. At Ahimsa Welfare Society, we believe that every youth has the potential to be a changemaker. Through journeys of self-exploration, leadership training, and community action, we are nurturing a generation of confident, responsible citizens who stand for inclusion, peace, and justice. Alongside, we support women in creating livelihoods, promote sustainable farming, and revive rural skills—ensuring that communities grow stronger from within. Together, we are weaving a future where dignity, equality, and hope are not just ideals, but lived realities.

Natural Resource Management

At Ahimsa Welfare Society, we connect environmental protection with stronger, sustainable livelihoods. By empowering communities with eco-friendly practices, we promote sustainable farming, water conservation, clean energy, and waste management—ensuring resilience for small farmers, landless laborers, and women. Our work has prepared integrated watershed projects across 60 villages, benefitting more than 65,000 people, and supported over 25,000 farmers and laborers through sustainable water management. With a focus on rainwater harvesting, climate solutions, and eco-friendly practices, we are building climate-resilient communities that grow in harmony with nature.
